This was seriously one of the highlights of our lap of Australia, Cape LeVeque in particular is simply stunning.
We stayed at the Gumbanan Wilderness Camp for a couple of nights, fishing and exploring the local area. We next headed to the Cygnet Bay Pearl farm for resort style camping, complete with pool, restaurant and bar.
Situated at the very top of the Dampier Peninsula, we first headed up in our Oztrail tents, then loved it so much we decided to come back up with the Caravan!
The road was soft but fine, with the right tyre pressures and speed, we got into an amazing free camp right against the water. The whole trip was very social with plenty of other travelling families joining us at various points.
We spent an amazing 10 days up on the Dampier Peninsula and Cape Leveque and will be back. It’s really accessible from Broome, jsut a short drive up along the coast and into the red roads of the peninsula.
