We had heard big things about the museum, it’s digital art, the ability to interact with the images, light and artwork, but actually seeing it, and being there, was something that blew all of our minds. It was a great day out.
It’s just a short train ride over the well known Rainbow Bridge and we exited the railway just a 5 minute walk from the Mirakain Science Museum.
The name Hiroshima has long been associated with known for it’s tragic past with the atomic bomb. It’s a sobering place but Hiroshima should still be included in a Japan family holiday.
The first two images I saw of Japan as a young child were of Himeji Castle surrounded by cherry blossom and a Geisha standing on a small bridge. They awakened my fascination with the country, it’s history and it’s culture. From our first visit that fascination has continued to grow and I’ve returned at every opportunity.
The 5th station is actually the highest point on Mt. Fuji that you can reach without hiking. So If you are driving, visiting by tour bus, or just taking a guided tour of the mountain and not an actual “climb” then this will be your summit.
It really is the happiest place on earth. Oh, and of popcorn.
The Fushimi Inari Shrine is possibly one of the most photographed locations in Japan.
