We have looked forward to Western Australia since first planning out our trip. We have 4 months scheduled to explore this massive state, which really won’t be enough, but we’re going to make it work! It is 1/3 of our continent and we have allocated 1/3 of our time here in WA. Here’s our planned Itinerary for Western Australia
The Golden Outback (A & B)
Such a large and diverse region, we plan to explore the gold mining past of Kalgoorlie, meander down to Esperance and then on to Cape Le Grand to see beautiful beaches and natural wonders of granite mountains.
Great Southern (C)
We plan on seeing all there is to see in this activity wonderland. So much to see and do across Albany, Denmark & Walpole.
The South West (D)
Margaret River is well known around Australia. We’ve never been, and can’t wait to check out the food and wine in the region. We will also visit Bussleton & Bunbury.
City of Perth (E)
We’re looking forward to returning to Perth, and area we have visited briefly before, but not nearly for long enough. We’re going to see Fremantle, Rottnest Island and all of the surrounding region.
Coral Coast (F)
This region promises so much from stunning beaches, amazing marine life, brilliant national parks and some excellent fishing. We will go up to Ningaloo and Shark Bay, check out Kilbarry, Geraldton, Denham, Canarvon and Exmouth.
The Pilbara (G)
We’ve seen coal mining, gold mining and are looking forward to learning about the mighty iron ore. We will spend time in beautiful national parks like Karajini, visit Port Hedland, Tom Price and Karratha. There are many gorges to see, including Dales Gorge, Hancock Gorge and Cossack.
Kimberly Region (H & I)
If the WA trip was our projected favourite, the Kimberly is to be the jewel in the crown. Beautiful Broome, Derby, the Gibb River Road, the Bungle Bungles, El Questro, Kununarra and finally Lake Argyle all await us.
