This park was one of our highlights when it came to cabin accommodation in Tasmania. The natural surrounds overlook a lake and are spread over a large site. We stayed in a cabin overlooking the lake and were treated to birds on the deck in the morning. What a way to wake up! Our cabin was recently renovated and was bright and modern.
It was well worth keeping the boys up until after dark The grounds are home to an abundance of pademelons (native to Tasmania, like a small wallaby), who move freely about without any fear of people. We grabbed a torch and headed out for a night walk…this is a walk that the kids will tell all their friends about.
Other facilities include a brilliant camp kitchen, bike track, fire pits, a playground…they really have thought of everything. Big 4 members receive their usual member benefits as well.
When visiting Port Arthur (link), this is the place to stay for sure.
