Still in the midst of the Wet Tropics, we had the chance to explore the rainforests surrounding Cairns. Visiting Kuranda and the Daintree Rainforest, we have built a great understanding and love of the rainforests of Australia’s Far North Queensland.
We started out in the Cairns region by droping in, literally, some crystal clear waters, visiting Babinda and the Babinda Boulders.
We did something a little different for our accommodation in Carins!
Exploring the Wet Tropics on Skyrail, we headed up to Kuranda. A highlight was our visit to the Butterfly House.
The number one thing to do in Kuranda, according to Trip Advisor, Le Petit Cafe’s crepes. We were all in on that for afternoon tea.
Back in Cairns we went to the amazing Cairns Lagoon. A huge swimming pool and man made beach, allowing you to swim safely away from stingers and crocodiles.
We ended up staying twice in Cairns during our Lap of Australia. Harry broke his arm on the way up through Port Douglas, so on the way back down from Cape York we called in again to have his plaster cast upgraded to fiberglass at the Cairns Hospital.
