Living in a caravan, there is very limited storage. It’s important to make space count, and it helps if items we pack have more than one use, and are as compact as possible.
The Tesalate sand-free towel ticks both of these boxes. Often towels can be a very bulky item. They are made to be thick and cosy and absorbent, which is great at home, but not when you have limited space.
Often a compact towel comes with sacrifices in absorbency and size, but not this one. It also has multiple uses in a family environment.
How many uses could we find for the Tesalate towel?
As a family, we go on a lot of day hikes. We look for locations with an opportunity to swim, so we can cool down along the way. One of the challenges we’ve had is carrying big heavy, wet towels. Due to its compact nature, the Tesalate towel fits easily into our bags, when dry or wet.
We took the Tesalate Towel for Two with us on a hike. As soon as we arrived at the water hole for a swim, we threw in onto the ground and it made the perfect picnic rug and ground cover. Even on the sandy river bank (it was a grose, dirty sand), the dirt stayed off. When it was time to leave, with a quick shake off, it was clean and ready to go, saving me from a cleaning out the car after the trip. That’s a massive win!
Will I feel dry after using the Tesalate sand-free towel?
The Tesalate sand-free towel is so thin, and my husband, Justin, in particular was very skeptical about its absorbency. There is nothing worse than a sticky wet feeling because the towel you are using didn’t do its job! This has been our experience with some travel towels, but not the Tesalate sand-free towel.
We took Justin to one of his favourite swimming holes and sent him out for a good swim, water bomb, and somersault session (he really is a big kid!) Upon emerging from the water, he used the Tesalate Towel for Two.
The verdict? “It actually worked!” He was dry and ready to get back in the car, water and sand free.
How long does the Tesalate towel take to dry?
On our Road Trip, Lap of Australia, we move destinations every few days. The last thing we need is wet, soggy towels. Quick drying is a massive convenience, and we put the Tesalate towel to the test. After a swim, we hung the towel out to dry.
The verdict? Even in the shade, the Tesalate towel dried in under an hour. I’m sure this would be even faster in the sun, and with a bit of a breeze.
Will it save space in our caravan and day packs?
With a family of 5, space saving is paramount. We have a pile of towels on the bathroom shelf, and are searching for a solution to condense them so we could use some of the space for other items. As soon as we received the towel, I could tell that it was a lot smaller than our existing towels. Rolled up, it fit perfectly onto our shelf, and would stack perfectly with multiple Tesalate towels.
The verdict? The Tesalate sand-free towel has saved a lot of space, both in our caravan, and our day packs. We have decided that the Tesalate Towel for Two is perfect for keeping in the car for the unexpected.
Back in the van, our boys got hold of it again, this time to build a cubby house. It was the perfect roof, held together with pegs.
Finally, our family love the two patterns on each side of the towel. As the only female in the family, I took the opportunity to choose a pretty design, but this didn’t deter the males, who simply flipped it over and use the black and white side (it helps that they are Collingwood supporters!!!). It’s like it is two different towels, in one.
The final verdict? The Tesalate Towel for Two is the ultimate mult-use and space saving towel. Complemented by the original Tesalate towel for the kids, it is perfect for the caravan and day trips, for the whole family.
