Queensland has some amazing waterfalls, rivers, creeks and swimming holes. It really is with their rainforest meets the reef and we were keen to swim in as many spots as we could.
Josephine Falls, Babinda Boulders, Jourama Falls and the TYTO Wetlands were all a highlight of this greater Townsville Region.
We also got to meet our first Cassowary down at Etty Bay Beach. Beautiful animals that are surprisingly big.
First up in Townsville, Steph and the boys headed over to Magnetic Island to explore a beautiful small island just minutes off of the coast.
Townsville itself has a lot to do and see. We were joined by JD’s parents, family friends and Lunds Lap during our stay at the local Big 4 caravan park.
Staying at a Big 4 with our family and friends was a great way to relax and refresh after a lot of free camping in the bush.
Paronella Park is worthy of a visit to this region all on it’s own. It’s a tourist hotspot, designed in the early 1900’s by a Spanish immigrant. He developed his own electrictiy supply well before the local authorities, designing a tourist park for the masses set amoungst the rainforest.
It was a stunning and beautiful spot to visit, with a highlight being the String Family playing a classical concert after dark, complete with synchronised light show.
